There are 14 full-time Chinese Bilingual Programs in the Edmonton Public Schools system. More than ten private schools offer weekend Chinese language programs. Our centre's weekend Chinese school has more than 350 students. We have an ongoing informal arrangement with the Edmonton Public Schools for students visit our centre every to learn about our culture, customs and traditions. The University of Alberta has established a strong Chinese Language program in the Department of East Asian Studies, and the Grant MacEwan Community College follows to the same. These are clear indicators of various community efforts to meeting the quest for more knowledge and information.
Project Goal:
The goal is to enhance and maximize current community efforts in meeting the emerging needs for increased opportunities to learn about the Chinese history, arts, culture, customs, and language.
